How to participate in My Voice My Vote Survey

My Voice My Vote Survey is part of the My Voice My Vote project which seeks to raise the voices of young Ghanaians to make informed choices and exhibit responsible and appropriate behaviors as active citizens during the upcoming 2020 elections, focusing on enhanced participation of the youth and increased capacity to constructively engage with adequate messages for the politicians (i.e. Policymakers). The target audience for the project is the youth between the ages of 15 and 35 years who account for about 35 percent of Ghana’s population.

How to participate in the survey

My Voice My Vote survey seeks to make the Ghanaian youth actors of development to work together with policymakers thereby contributing their quota to governance. Youth Empowerment Synergy (YES-Ghana) is thereby calling on the youth to vote by choosing three (3) topical development issues out of the ten (10) list which includes; Quality Education, Poverty Reduction, Environment, ICT and Media, Good Governance, Youth Participation, Education and Skills, Gender Equality, Better Health and Wellbeing, Conflict Prevention.  These issues need the attention of aspiring presidential candidates and political parties to focus their campaign messages on outlining measurable policies and programmes that touch on the topical issues voted by the youth. This will in the long run help young people to succeed in becoming productive members of society, active citizens, and drivers of socio-economic development.

There are four platforms available for people to participate in this survey;

  1. Through USSD code which is available to all mobile networks and participation is free of charge. To vote using this platform, Dial *800*25# and follow the prompts to complete the survey.
  2. Online Voting: We have developed an online portal where people can equally take part in the survey which is completely free on their smartphones, laptops, and any internet enabled device that offer access to a web browser. To take the survey online, visit yesghana.org/mvmv2020
  3. Ballot Card: There is also a ballot card that can be filled in ink and submitted to our assigned agents. This option is available to those who do not have access to mobile phones, and any other internet-enabled device to participate either online or via the USSD code.
  4. Braille Ballot Card: Because Youth Empowerment Synergy values people’s inclusion in all of its activities, we have developed braille ballot cards for the visually disabled.
