Margaret’s Experience at the Accountability, Advocacy and Policy Influencing Workshop

I believe the Accountability, Advocacy and Policy Influencing was a very participatory one.  The learning experience involved all members that allowed us to understand issues around youth participation. My expectations were met as I have an understanding on each of the themes discussed.

Advocacy and Policy Influencing works together. This means that, without advocacy, policies can’t be influenced. And doing this can help bring change. I believe advocacy is very important because it addresses the root causes of problems that people faces in their various communities.

In doing this, one needs to have a clear understanding about what needs to change and be passionate about it. I was really inspired by the group dynamics that was used. I must say it was a great experience. Not forgetting the best treatment that was given to us by YES Ghana and other funding organizations.
