Our New Field Coordinators For The Adwumpa Pa Project.

We are excited to introduce our new Field Coordinators on the Adwuma Pa Project. They will be responsible for all field related activities on the project. The project is funded by USDOL and led by CARE International with other partners. The project aims to economically empower thousands of vulnerable women and girls within the cocoa supply chain in Ghana. Our Field Coordinators work include the mobilization and training of young girls between the ages of 15 to 17 years in soft skills and vocational skills and consequently linking them to good financial services to enable them establish businesses on their own and ultimately achieve economic independence.

Ms. Martina Deri joins as the only female Field Coordinator who will be managing the project at Asunafo North Municipal Assembly and will be based in Goaso. She is a community development practitioner with a wealth of experience having worked on the similar projects in the past. She is very passionate about working with vulnerable girls. She is a firm believer in being disciplined and that helps her with the projects she manages. In one of the projects Martina was a part of, she was able to complete a complex task within a record time as a liaison between enumerators and the monitoring and evaluation specialist of the USAID-EDC-INNOVATING. She is a fun-loving person who loves to hang out during my leisure time.

Mr. Daniel A. Thompson will be leading all of YES-Ghana’s field program operations and activities in the Bibiani/Anhwiaso/Bekwai Municipality and will be based in Bibiani. He brings a wealth of experience working on youth livelihood and economic empowerment projects. Before joining YES Ghana, he was a Field Supervisor for a similar youth livelihood enhancement project where he over saw field operations in the recruitment and profiling of thousands of vulnerable and disadvantaged youth who were to be equipped with soft skills training as well as TVET training to prepare them for the world work. He has also had some time working in private enterprise, precisely in the telecoms space where he was deeply involved in client support. Daniel is extremely passionate about development being sustainable, inclusive and promoting the rights of the marginalized in society. He relishes being part of project teams where diversity of ideas and opinions are welcomed. He feels fulfilled when he is given the opportunity to contribute his bit in ensuring young people are equipped with the right skills to be part of decision-making processes at all levels. Outside of work he enjoys swimming, travelling to experience new cultures, and taking a walk with German shepherd dog, Troy.

Mr. Quentin Adjetey Okang, popularly known as Noble among his peers and in his community will be leading the Adwuma Pa Project at Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District Assembly in the Central Region. Quentin is a staunch enthusiast of social entrepreneurship who is extremely excited that the Adwuma Pa project has given him the opportunity to contribute his quota in the training of young girls who will establish businesses that would transform the economic fortunes of their families and communities in the coming years. Serving as a field officer on the YIEDIE project, he capitalised on his interpersonal skills to build a very strong field team which developed and deployed strategies to drastically reduce participant attrition which was a major scare on the project. He is a smart team player with the ability of learning new things with ease. Innovation and hard work are his driving forces in the work environment while integrity and responsibility guide his actions. In his free time, he loves to listen to music, surf on the internet and go shopping.

Mr. Baffour A. Joel will be coordinating the field activities of the Adwuma Pa Project in Tano South Municipal Assembly and will be based in Bechem. Joel is a community development practitioner with four years working experience in community development and managing companies. He holds BA Integrated Development Studies. In the cause of his career, he has developed skills in community mobilization, training community groups on Village Savings and Loans (VSAL), project implementation, developing and managing project budget, monitoring and evaluation, report writing and managing teams. He has wide and varied experience in interpersonal relationships with proven leadership skills which involved motivating teams to achieve their goals. Joel is a good mannered and an intelligent young man, very focused, pleasant in character, well organized and reliable in achieving results. He is able to adapt to technologies and remain composed under pressure with very good analytical skills. Joel is dedicated in executing all tasks assigned to him thoroughly, timely and accurately.
